Load OSR2 over Older Version of Win95.

OSR2 is a complete system and you should get the best results by installing it on a fresh hard drive.
However, if want to try it, OSR2 can be tricked into loading over an earlier version of W95.

Back up all your needed data in case of problems:

1. Put the OSR2 CD in the drive and from Windows, open Explorer, find the setup.exe file and double-click it.

2. When the licensing agreement appears, do *not* click any choices.

3. Open the start menu by pressing the control key and hitting Esc.

4. Select Run, type: Notepad and then click OK.

5. In Notepad, select open and then locate the folder Wininst0.400 which should be in C:\ and make sure the open dialog box is set to show all files.

6. In that folder, locate the Setuppp.inf file and double-click it. Locate the section that starts with [data] and add this entry on the line right below it: OEMUP=1 Then save the file.

7. Exit Notepad and continue the OSR2 installation.

8. You will undoubtedly have newer files on your drive than some of those being installed--keep the newer files when asked.

9. W95 may not be able to locate some files and you will be asked to insert a disk or CD.
Click OK or browse depending on your choices. The needed files should be on your hard drive, probably in the windows/system folder.
Browse a path to them and once selected, click OK.
